Traditionally, upgrades to a storage device consist of firmware upgrades and capacity upgrades. In order to increase performance customers have to install costly upgrades going from one model to a larger, more costly one, or purchase additional systems driving up cost and complexity. Pillar has changed that paradigm. Customers can start small by purchasing the performance and capacity that they need today and continue to grow the system by adding Bricks (for capacity and IOPS) and Slammers (for throughput) all the way up to four slammers and 64 bricks (832 drives) for maximum capacity and performance.
Pillar also offers enhanced investment protection for existing Axiom customers. Pillar Axiom 300/500 customers are able to upgrade their Axiom system to the latest Pillar hardware platform - the Axiom 600 - with minimal downtime and no data migration.
Updates in software release for any component shouldn't impact any application. Today's businesses can experience seamless core Axiom One software upgrades with the Pillar platform using Pillar's Non-Disruptive Upgrade feature. |
- Achieve up to twice the performance of the Axiom 500; up to four times the performance of the Axiom 300 with just one Axiom 600 slammer.
- Consolidate more applications.
- Scale in capacity, performance or both without incurring additional software costs, downtime or time consuming data migrations.
- Improve virtual machine performance and physical to virtual ratios.
- Manage more applications and workloads per Slammer.
- Drive more Bricks from a single Slammer, helping reduce power consumption.
- Obtain more performance without more space - swap your existing Axiom 300/500 Slammer to a Axiom 600 and occupy half the rack space of two Axiom 500 Slammers (or one fourth the space of an Axiom 300).
- Facilitate greater scalability of performance as your IT environment grows.
- Realize greater price performance - best $/IOP rate in the industry.
- Obtain 80% utilization without performance penalty - Guaranteed
- Implement next generation architecture for future product development and enhancements.
